needing some dev help please

I am in the process of deving my first custom rom ever for the epic which i am looking forward to I however have ran into a few snags along the way firstly is adb will connect in linux for me lsusb does list samsung device connected but for the life of me i have searched high and low and cannot find a fix any help would be awsome. Second is when trying to make otapackage using the ec05 build and download repo from android source and throwing it all together its giving me some issues.

Posting to let you know that once the right people, like Paul or Rag, the views won't be so high with no response. Looked because I thought maybe I could help but I don't have a clue about deving lol

1) mind giving us a list of commands that you are using?

./adb devices

is starting the daemon server, but not listing the phone, correct?
I've had that issue as well, they way I get around it is install a wireless ADB app
the way you get into the shell (which it will tell you) is:

./adb connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5555

where the x's are the ip address of the phone
Make sure USB debugging is on (but I'm sure you probably knew that, just wanted to mention it just in case).

2) what are your errors?

Concerning your EC05 build, what are you using for a base ROM to start with? What repo are you using to grab code from?

Anything you are attempting to build needs to be deodexed to accept any modified code. So if your not using a deodexed ROM base then that would be the first problem to start.
