The bounty of apps for iPad and iPhone are one of the cornerstones of Apple's strategy for promoting the devices. It isn't a great sign for the company then, when an important developer says it's going to do a superior app first for Google's rival Android operating system.
That's what Netflix did on Tuesday, when it announced the debut of a revamped Netflix app for Android tablets. The app appears to be much slicker than the current Netflix app for the iPad, with a new design that displays more movies and TV shows on the screen to make it easier to find things to watch.
