Netflix Problems

Doesn't make it the tablet, my Tab plays it fantastically well and so does my HTC Desire Z......your logic doesn't work.

Since 3.2, Netflix is a whole lot happier. There's definitely a software environment component here. However, Tegra 2 is still terrible at H.264. I can prove it, with a nice little fractal geometry video that I've encoded in baseline profile, at 2-4Mbit/s (Handbrake, MeGUI, FFMPEG, Kies encoder, they all yield the same result). It just can't take it. Anything complex at 720P doesn't work. Even when you use basic MPEG4, it still has major issues decoding. I can make the video, in various encodings, available if anyone wants to try. Movies do tend to look great, but those are generally not fully 720P in the sense that the black bars if non-anamorphic are easy to render. Some HD podcasts, which are encoded at pretty low bitrate give it pause. Oh well, I suppose it works well enough. At least Netflix is happy now.

Does it really matter that much on a 10" screen? The picture quality is great but its not going to be a match for a top notch HD TV is really?

720p content is 1280 x 720. The screen is 1280 x 800, so yes, HD content could/should look very good.

It does look good, as I stated previously I doubt that its a tablet problem as HD content through Netflix looks great on my Tab. However if you are expecting it to match a $2000 TV then I would suggest your expectations are too high. Compared to an iPad it looks much better though.

When I clear my RAM history it works better sometimes. I thought this thing had 1 gb of RAM which should be plenty.

It does, thats twice as much as an iPad2. Have you been into your Netflix account, on your PC, and changed the streaming quality settings or checked what it is set to?

Started getting same problem I think it was after the last update netflix had, 2 to 3 days ago it was prefect.

I have figured that it start after few second on any video... It great for about four seconds and then I get a flicker, after that everything is out of sync and image slow down. Just not cool! The browser was my best attraction on the tab and suck as well pushing all the mobile sites instead of regular versions, now my second favor thing is broken... Kinda make it hard to use... I use mostly dolphin now, but I think it should just be a option and not the only option. disappointed lately.

It streams perfectly on my cheap optimus v. And cheap cleawire internet. So it must the app. Have you updated to the lastest?

New 3.2 update fixed it for me - yesterday's not the one from a week ago.

I was getting a little lag after the first 10 or so seconds, would result in frame/audio being out of sync. Installed 3.2 last night and all is right with the world again - must be a case where netflix built their latest update on the latest os release

3.2 netflix update?

I would very much like to know why Netflix in the list of permissions with this new update wants to "Read Personal Information", which says - how use your device and potential personal information.
Why do they need that?

So, we did not update it.

I really wish Google would let us accept some permissons and others not. Permissions is a great idea, but let us have some more control over it.

:(
