Network connection issue when calling/texting

Hey all,

I'm running a stock S4 on Verizon. Ever since the update to 4.4.2 earlier in the year I've noticed that I get no network service at all when I'm at work, and yet coworkers on Verizon or ATT with S4's S5's, iPhones, etc. all have perfect reception.. I saw somewhere online that it was an issue with the 4.4.2 update...

I'm currently installing the latest update the phone has offered, but do any of you know if this connectivity issue has been fixed? I heard somewhere that rooting the phone fixes the issue... Any confirmation on that?
