network issue

Hi

I have been using the Galaxy 3 for a week and it has been fine but today it is saying 'network unavailable' emergency calls only however the internet on the phone is working ok (not using wifi). I have spoken to 02 and they have no problems and i did put sim into my i phone and it worked ok, also the galaxy would not allow another sim to connect to network.

The phone was brought through a friend as new but unlocked to any network however there are still a few Voda icons on screen and as I have said it worked fine for a week

Any ideas or help

My Galaxy Note 2 says the same thing, "Network Unvailable" and is not loading my emails. I don't have Wi Fi either, but have not had a problem with this until just this morning. Also, my inbox says "-2" as opposed to a positive number. Why a negative number?
