What is the ideal setting with the "Advanced Signal Status" app to use 4G data when available, switching to 3G when not available, and still be able to make calls? I've obviously screwed something up and can't get it to 4G, even selecting "LTE only" it shows 3G... I'm not very knowledgeable about network types though...

Whenever I'm at a college football or basketball game, all the people concentrated in one area make it difficult to get any data on 4G, but my dad sits right next to me and has no problems with his 3G iphone. So last night at a basketball game I used the "Phone Info" app (same developer) to force it to 3G data and it worked great. I could've sworn the setting was at "LTE/CDMA/EvDo" initially, but when I turned it back to that it won't go out of 3G. I am now at home, where I have always had an excellent 4G Signal.

I even tried uninstalling the app and restarting my phone, thinking it would default to its standard network settings with no app overriding it. But still 3G. I've been planning to do a Factory Reset to fix a couple minor bugs and get a fresh start on some of my homescreens, but I was planning to wait until the mythical update came out... Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT: I feel stupid now; nevermind.

Thanks, that did it. I feel stupid for not thinking to check the phone settings instead of using the app...

Mmmmm interesting. My phone is set to world and everything works fine. Should I change or leave it alone. VZW GALAXY S3

My phone is set to world
Did you mean 'Global'?
There shouldn't be a problem leaving it in Global mode unless you actually travel outside the country to somewhere that you might incur roaming charges.

My i535 is set to Global. Has been for a long time.
I suppose it might connect to a system in Windsor, Canada if I was near the Detroit river. But I stay away from those parts at all costs.
