Never thought selling a phone would be this hard

I showed my Fi bills to a rep at the Verizon store and he said that he couldn't even come close. But then there are just the two of us and we both work from home. And in the Atlanta area we have WiFi wherever we go.

Yeah two people on a plan makes it harder. Carriers aren't as nice to the 1-3 line people. I used to be one so I know the pain. Due to my plan I pay $33 a month (taxes and all) for my line. Fi would save me what ... MAYBE $10 if I didn't use it? Whereas on Verizon I can use 1 GB or 50 GB and the bill is $33. I am cool with $33 for that coverage + that available usage.

We use about 15-20 GB a month each, we mostly stream everything. I believe FI charges by the gig

They have unlimited now (Fi) but it "caps" after 15 GB you get crap speeds so yeah... Fi wouldn't be good for you at all. Hard to beat your unlimited for $50/line.

Found a couple of first things to do when you first get your pixel videos. I’ll be watching those and looking for a good case. Any idea where to look for good insurance just in case I decide to get some? Didn’t purchase the preferred care

I didn't either....the preferred care is a bargain but mostly for damage because the standard warranty was increased for two years. Right now I'm paying monthly through the carrier but it also includes loss protection. Defects are covered by Google anyway so the Warranty is a bit of a rip off but I don't plan on keeping past the next Pixel.

Does Verizon charge differently in different areas? I just got a quote today for the two of us on Verizon in Atlanta with unlimited data $80 plus taxes and fees which would be about $85/mo.

My average monthly bill with Fi has been $37.70 for the two of us including taxes and fees. For our situation where we both work from home with home WiFi and having WiFi availability literally everywhere we go in Atlanta, Google Fi is obviously a no-brainer.

You got quoted today's prices. I am on the unlimited from last February (the intro unlimited plan).

I get all the benefits of the current top plan from Verizon ("Beyond Unlimited") for a WAY better price. I am also not a 2 line plan. I have 9 lines and we all pay our own share so therefore my bill is lower due to more people (that is why I said individuals and 2-3 plan people get kinda screwed by carriers).

With 9 lines the price comes to about $33 a line (taxes and all). Any phone payments and whatnot that person is responsible for. Such as my friend (pretty much brother) pays his phone payment as part of his $33 line price .. I don't pay a dime to it since it isn't mine.

I also have WiFi at home but the place I spend the most time (work) doesn't so... LTE it is. Around town I don't have to worry about WiFi everywhere since I have LTE everywhere. Therefore Fi would be just awful for me and actually wouldn't save me any money... It would cost me more then what I pay now.

OK. Thanks for the explanation, Almeuit.
I can see where Fi wouldn't work for you.
And I can see where Fi works for us and Verizon would not.

Are you @Almeuit on Twitter?

For OP: Glad you didn't do the trade in to Google. After reading over 400 blog posts about the disgraceful way that the Google approved company was handling the trade-ins, I also sold a phone on Swappa and ordered and received a Pixel 2 from the Google store. I put a thin case and a wireless receiver on it. Love it.

As am I, my note sold for 710 on swappa minus their fee which left me with about 685, not bad at all, it should be delivered TODAY!
