New Android Owner

I just recent switched from iPhone to a Galaxy Note 3. After reading threads all over the place I seem to be a little different than most, but I need some help. I am trying to figure out how to get the screen on my Note, to light up when I get an email in my email app as well as my gmail app if possible. I know this could potentially drain my battery quicker, but I would really like this option if it is possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You would need an app to do that. You could use Notifier Pro.
