New Android/Root user....a little help please

I rooted my phone and got the SuperUser access on my phone. When I went into the adb it showed me the # sign after following all of the directions so I figured I was in perm-root. I have not flashed any ROMS onto the phone yet, due to the face that I have no idea what I am doing and a lot of reading up before I got hasty. I plugged my phone into my work computer to put an album on my sd card and my phone restarted and now any root apps that I have I cannot use due to them saying that my phone no longer has root access. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

If you lost root access after your phone restarted then you only had temp root. You need to carefully read through the how to and make sure you follow all the steps. http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc...htc-shift-faqs-how-tos-updated-3-28-11-a.html
