So I want to flash a new ROM. I'm currently on viscous jb 4.1, I unlocked and rooted via wugs kit. Most of my tinkering will be by CWM. Do I have to revert back to ICS 4.04 before I flash a new ROM? Or can I update from Viscous JB 4.1? My desktop access I'd limited.

You can flash from whatever you're on, however when moving to a new ROM be sure you wipe fully in recovery, as in wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache, and format system.

Thanks for the tip. I just installed a CM ROM. Took a day or two for me, but it finally worked or appears to be for now.
