New app called datally that measures data usage is a great one.

It's not really that new. Was beta testing that like late 2016, then it got released last year.

So far though, I honestly can't see much difference between it and the built in data saver on higher end Androids. It was actually designed for lower end prepaid Android devices which did not have the data saver feature.

In terms of capabilities, Samsung Max is better since Datally only uses a VPN to block background net access. However, Samsung Max actually has a server that compresses the data sent to the phone, creating decreased data consumption.

The problem with Samsung Max is the ads.

I listened to Mobile Syrup today on app recommendations and this app called is datally was highly recommended. I installed it and I am impressed. Here in Canada we have the highest rates for data so we Canucks need all the help we can get.

Yeah I have looked at Canada plans before ... I feel bad for you guys. They really rock your wallet when it comes to data prices.

I've been playing with Dataly all of last week on a pre 7.0 phone.. and it works really well. Was suprised how much data i could save by cutting a chunk of data usage out.. and it does make things a lot more visible than the data saver feature in newer phones.

I'm a fan.

thank god for unlimited plans, I hated the time when I had to worry about getting charged MEGA if I went a bit over the limit
