In an emergency situation, every second counts.

Lockscreen Text to 911 just dropped in the Google Play Store. The app allows users to text 911 dispatchers their exact location and name at the right time — without unlocking their phone. Earlier this year we saw Text-to-911 launch in several areas around the country with the effort to improve public safety. We created Lockscreen TT911 to make users and emergency dispatchers send and receive critical information directly, at the right time, and without any extra effort.

We've tested it extensively and it will enable a quicker response where text to 911 is enabled (mostly in Chicago, Dallas, Maine, Vermont, and Indiana). We'd love to hear any feedback on how to make it better (especially the ability to test it).

Exactly! We don't want to increase false alarms (911 sadly has a big challenge with that already), but we want it to be easier to send essential information.
