New call screen

I just downloaded what was supposed to be an update to Call Screen. The update version is 44.029. If I remember correctly, the previous version was the same. I can't find the new features that were described in the promo . Anyone know what's going on?

I got them on my 3xl already.

I think I got the "check out the new features" pop-up yesterday.

I don't understand the difference between the see side and the Play Store. Does that mean I should wait for another update?

It's like the monthly updates. That's not on the play store, it's on the server side. At some point your app will get pinged by the server to alert you to the update.

The app still may have to be updated in order to take advantage of the new features, but those features still have to be activated on Google's side for your particular phone. It doesn't always happen at the same time for everyone.

OK, I hear you but I was notified by the Play Store that there was an update. It describes the changes that I was anxiously awaiting. I downloaded the update but nothing has changed. I must be dense but I'll just wait and see what happens. Thanks again for trying to explain this to me.

Does anyone with a Pixel 3 have the automatic call screen now? I keep seeing people with 3XL's saying they have it.

Ok. Then it's still a waiting game. Such a great feature. I switched back to my Pixel 3 today and already got a reminder how good it is when my daily SPAM call interrupted me.

Do you have to go onto settings and check or do you get some sort of popup onboarding when you run the phone app?

No. It just appeared. It's convoluted.. It's easier to read the entire thread. I don't know why it started working but I'm glad it's here.
