Me. And Samsung obviously. Me because a small number of jerks are going to make phones cost more and take resources away from Samsung that could be used to make future phones.

This. The law group will get paid chasing the media ambulance & a couple of users will score $100. The rest of us will get phones covered in safety stickers powered by 1000 mAh batteries the size of car batteries.

Guess I won't be getting that S8 after all lol.

I have no problem whatsoever getting the S8 if' it's as good as I hope and it outperforms the S7e I have now. So Samsung had a bad one, whoopie do. Look at how many cars have been recalled for major problems, let alone all the other recalls happening all the time. I give credit to them for standing up to the issue and trying (somewhat unsuccessfully because people are stupid) to recall all the phones involved.

All true...plus the point can't be underscored astrongly enough, the class action suit has nothing to do with any phones that actually had a significant level of issues.

I use wireless charging almost exclusively unless I am in my car. I think wanting bigger batteries and charging them back in brief time frame will inevitably lead to phones overheating. For those who cannot make it a day replaceable batts are the answer. For me I had a wireless charger everywhere I was going to sit for a while so did not have to worry about fast charging.

Market demand has also edged manufacturers toward slimmer/thinner phones. Lately, in my opinion, phones have slimmed down to the point where they seem less substantial (I paid almost $1000 for this?!), wafer thin and as unwieldy as a watermelon seed when uncased.

True. I'm more prone to leaving my phone somewhere and have it lost since I don't feel its weight in my pocket anymore. I think I should buy a thicker and heavier case.

My wife has had a NEW AT&T Samsung S7 since May, 2016 for $700 and it has been having the issues with the battery over heating and operating issues. So my wife has been trying to deal with AT&T on getting it replaced. Well good luck. AT&T will send you a REFURBISHED S7 with no real Warranty. You get what is left on your original phone. How about a Class Action Lawsuit against AT&T for there CROOKED ways. I would by interested in signing on for that also.

Lets Hold AT&T ACCOUNTABLE.

How is AT&T acting in a "CROOKED" manner in this case? Your wife has been using her once-new phone for going on eight months now. You say that AT&T will replace her potentially defective device. Why would you expect AT&T to replace her used phone with a new one? I suspect that the terms for their warranty replacement policy are clearly spelled out in the documentation that you had to acknowledge when you bought the phone. They probably state they will replace a new device with a new device if within the normal return window (maybe 14 days or so), then with a new or refurbished like (or similar) device at their discretion.

"Lets Hold AT&T ACCOUNTABLE" (sic). Really?

How come now one is going after Apple... They had a few batteries that blew up..... I think it's ridiculous to take legal action on this...
