Now I've seen it all. Verizon has disabled the ability to take a screenshot when their My Verizon app is displayed. Says unable to capture, disabled by security policy.

Wowq

Yep, you're right. Guess they don't want us to use what's displayed in the app against them if need be. I'll just use another device to snap a photo if needed- guess they think we're too stupid to figure out a workaround.

that's because it is dumb. None of my banking apps do that. What is Verizon trying to protect us from?

That's just it- they aren't trying to protect us, they are covering their own a$$ in case something shows up in the app like erroneous billing or something incorrect on their end.

I don't claim to know how to implement this, nor have I even tried. That said, I did see this as being a way to allow you to screen shot anything.

DisableFlagSecure | Xposed Module Repository

The caveat is you have to root and it disables the screenshot prevention system wide, not just for the Verizon app. So caution if you have other apps with this feature otherwise enabled.

Appreciate that. Not that important to me, just angry that Verizon would take the extra time to block screenshots in the app!!!!!!!!

Dang is that your normal Bill? That's a big one haha.

Nah, that's two months. I bought a phone, returned it and their warehouse couldn't find it, so they did their reconcile stuff and so I didn't have a bill last month, then had double this month. washed out in the end, but man, i don't like sending $600+ to THEM.

Holy crap. Just tried and no go for me. I can't believe they did that. I sometimes send out a screen shot of the data I've used but I can't do that anymore.

It definitely is odd. The only app on my phone that does this is LastPass (which it is an option on by default so I could .. change it so you could screenshot if I wanted) but that makes sense because it is a password manager. A screenshot of your account though through the app is definitely not something I would expect this on.

I think apple has tighter policies on their apps and what it can do then Android.

LastPass password manager blocks screenshots by default.

Very true but -- it is an option. You can easily go tic the option to allow it if need be. That makes sense though since it holds all your passwords. An account app? Definitely not needed.

They do. Google is more lenient whereas anything system related usually is a no go with Apple. They also block content they simply don't want in the app store.

It's a pro and a con of Android OS. It's open to pretty much anything you can imagine. But it's also open to carriers to put whatever they want.
