New DNA User With Battery Issues

I've been using a DNA for a couple days. I've not really had too much issue with it until this evening. All of a sudden my battery started dropping a percentage every 2 minutes or so.

Does anyone know of something that could point me in the right direction to find the culprit? I can't even use my wireless charger because it can't charge it fast enough to beat the drain.

Thanks!

i to couldnt find the culprit of the batt drain on the dna its the snowball effect once it starts its an avalanche effect.

have you killed off all the bloatware?

check the battery usage stats in settings. sometimes my camera is a huge battery drain even though i use it for maybe 3 seconds. i just kill it from that screen.

Yeah. It's insane. Completely useless right now. Wish I never got rid of that Note, now.

Still have all the bloat on here. It's not rooted.

And I tried the camera, but that wasn't even running.

If you use the internet browser for an extended period of time, it will also drain the battery

I did notice that the Internet was the biggest battery drain, but I wasn't even using it. I use Chrome. I killed it but the battery issue was still there.

I only use the stock browser, never 3rd party. Some third party apps can cause issues

Have you tried simply restarting yet? If not, do that and make sure fast boot is off. Also, do you have a battery monitoring app like Gsam? That tells you exactly whats running. It is free if you wanna pick it up.

Google maps and the GPS also use tons of power keep it off if your not using it for anything really important. Also be careful of the turn by turn nav it really sucks a ton of power.

I've rebooted a ton of times, no help. I charged it all night (on a wireless charger) for roughly 7 hours and it only made it up to 96%. That doesn't seem right to me. The battery is also at 105 degrees. Whet yesterday before the drain it was at 90-something before the drain started.

I also killed maps, turned off gps, and haven't used navigation.

Could it be Google Now? I do have that set up.

Is a big phone with a small battery and a beautiful screen. You didn't expect this?

Well considering 99% of the other DNA users on here don't have these issues, I wouldn't expect it. As this clearly isn't normal for a DNA.

Anyways, back to the OP. Mine does not behave like this at all and the only time my battery got that warm was after gaming for about an hour and a half. Regarding Google Now, I just started using it 2 weeks ago and I did notice a greater drain as expected. However, yours is much greater than mine if its going at 1 percentage point every two mins or so. Just for your reference so you can compare with me, with Google now turned on and the phone idling I only lose 1 percentage point every 1/2 hour to 45 mins. With Google now turned off I could normally go well over an hour and not drop a point. This isn't something you should have to deal with. I would see about getting a replacement unless you wanna try a reset.

So I should expect a phone to completely die in 4 hours without any use because it has a beautiful screen and a small battery? Thanks for the completely useless post.

Sounds like phone issue to me I have had 3 DNA'S all different and didn't have this issue my friend has a Dna and is not having the trouble like that can you get it swapped out?

Here is a screenshot of my battery at 84% but only under 3 hours left on the charge. I think I'm going to try a reset and then maybe a swap at Verizon. Thanks for the help from some of you guys. Others I have no clue what you're talking about.

just curious, how long can you game with the screen on auto brightness? because on my battery an hour and a half of gaming would kill the battery...

What app are you using to check battery stats?
