New DNA User With Battery Issues

Question- how did you narrow it down to a rogue app?

Sometime my battery will last all day but most days it needs charging by three o'clock.
I thought it was just the area I am in and depends how hard the phone need to work.
I do have a bunch of email mail I tract & i always have the wifi on, I sure this hurts the bat life as well.
Put a couple of battery tracters onj and I see what these reveal.

Simply because the drain was insane. It could have even been a normal app that got stuck on gps or something like that. But I reset my phone and started over. Pain in the butt for sure, but fixed the phone.

For example, I was losing 1% every minute to two minutes. Now I'm losing 1% every 10+ minutes. And that insane drain was when the phone was idling. It couldn't even fully charge to beat the drain.

Yep. I had the exact same experience, and my phone was running hot; always in the 98-105 degree range. Since the reset, it hasn't been over 85 degrees.

And yeah, my battery was doing the same. It was on fire. Running at 100 degrees and hotter. Couldn't get it lower than that. Right now it's 82 degrees.

My phone is holding up pretty well with battery life, much better than I expected and much better than any other device I have had. Charging right now, but went from 100 to about 17% with 22 hours of moderate usage.
