New Droid Owner

I have a Droid X that is great, but it looks like we will never see Cyanogen, so I bought a Droid off Ebay and it's on its way.

It didn't come with a battery, so I grabbed the first inexpensive one I saw on Google Shopping. Is there a particular battery I should look for? The one I picked up was a Chinese labeled Motorola BP6X 1300 mAH.

Will this fit the bill or do I need to look elsewhere?

I'm thinking I may spring for the Seidio 1500 at some point. Still pricey for a battery for a "play" phone.

i am too a new droid user as well. where is the audio contols on the lock screen? this phone is a great phone but annoying i can't control my music without going through the music app. any suggestions?

Yeah you would have to root your phone to get music controls on the lockscreen.

Basically, the stock music player doesn't have lock screen controls. You can always download an alternate music player, like WinAmp. WinAmp has mighty fine lock screen controls. I don't use them anymore, since I rooted and installed CyanogenMod, which gives every music player lock screen controls, but I loved WinAmp's lock screen controls when I was still on regular ol' stock Android. (Still use WinAmp, too, since I really don't like MusicMod, which is CyanogenMod's stock music player.)

Winamp is not the only player available with lock screen controls. PowerAMP does as well. So does Cubed. Those two will automatically gather album art for you when you activate that setting.

I'm not sure how Winamp does.
