Hello Community!

I personally own an EVO, and I'm a flashaholic with it, but my fiancee just recently got a Droid X and I rooted it for her. I was hoping to install CM7 on it and just let her use stock vanilla gingerbread (like my evo) because she was more used to it, but I kinda hit a roadblock.

At first I just tried letting rom manager do the job because I didn't know how to go into clockwork recovery from boot, but it just ended up rebooting the device. Then I remember all the talk about locked bootloaders (which I didn't really pay attention to before) so I did a bit of research and got Droid X bootstrap on her phone. Then i tried again to go into recovery from rom manager but it still didn't work.

Any help or ideas?

I did get Droid X bootstrap from a different website because i remember the post i got it from said it was free on the website instead of getting it from the market. Other than that I'm not sure what to do.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

Or if you paid for Droid X Bootstrap go in to hit, hit Bootstrap Recovery, then go in to ROM Manager and go to Flash CWM Recovery, and choose Droid 2, and it'll update to the correct version. When on stock rooted it requires the bootstrap app, when on Gingerbread you need Droid 2 (when on Blur).

You'll want to pick up the latest CM7 from here, I believe its probably the best spot, definitely the most up-to-date as its where the current maintainers reside:

Updated Info On RevNumbers CM4DX-GB(HDMI Out, 1% Battery, No Charge LED, FM radio, Charge While Off) - RootzWiki

Once you flash CM7 you use power menu for recovery. Don't use the bootstrappers, it'll soft-brick and you'll have to SBF.
