First post....first of MANY, I'm thinking...lol. Just got the Droid X, coming over from a Blackberry 8350i. I have all of my contacts on my SD card and cannot figure out for the life of me how to get the contacts to transfer to the DX. I see that my music has transferred, but not the contacts. Any help would be VERY much appreciated!

Ummm, no. I'm just doing it by hand, got the old card w/contacts back in BB and doing them one by one...not a problem really, just kind of time consuming...lol. I do appreciate you helping, though!

Having a Droid (of any kind) without having a gmail account to sync with is like having a car without gasoline.

Just get a gmail account if you don't have one, and upload/import your data into it via your PC and your web connection to gmail. Once you sing in from your phone, everything will sync and stay in sync forever.

Thank you! I have a gmail account, but guess I'm just too tired to comprehend...lol. I guess I'm trying to figure out how to transfer my contacts from my SD card to google on my PC. Will try again when I get home from work in the am...thanks again.

I did it when I switched from my strom2 to the droid. pretty simple.
connect phone to PC, open blackberry desktop manager, there is a section to export your contacts, export to vcf cards, then copy them to your droids card and then go to contacts and choose import contacts.

OR, just open Gmail, import contacts and they will be instantly downloaded/synced to your X. In the Contacts app, a bar across the top will pull down to give you a choice of how/which contacts or groups you want displayed in Contacts.

PS - Gmail will also instantly sync its calendar and fetch your email from pop3 servers. Painless, compared with the Desktop Mgr for BBs.

Ya I was gonna say, it is a lot easier to update your contacts on the computer with a keyboard, then sync them.

I finally got it done, was touch and go for awhile there as far as me having enough patience that is...lol. Thanks all for your help!
