As I noted yesterday, suddenly my Maxx (on unrooted ICS) stopped receiving and sending emails on WiFi. Email had been functioning flawlessly on WiFi and, again, no changes were made by me to any settings either on the Maxx or my home network.
Called Verizon support. A most cordial rep told me to take the Maxx off WiFi. The moment I did that email was restored. He advised me that what I experienced was a "known issue."
My dilemma should be obvious. Why would it work for more than a month while on WiFi and then I start experiencing a "known issue"?
Also, I am on the new data plan. The main reason I did not find the new pricing objectionable (at least for my needs) was that I could use the device on my home and office WiFi and not run the data meter at those times.
I normally run Kaiten Email but tried both the stock email client and Mail Droid to see if the program (Kaiten) had gone bonkers. None of them worked; either on my Comcast or GMail accounts until I turned off WiFi and reverted to 3g or 4g.
Does anyone have knowledge that might assist me? I simply don't get it and, to some extent, I feel Verizon is scamming.
Thank you for any help.
