New Extended Battery Options Thread

Yoobao 3000 mah battery on ebay for 29.99. Best bang for the buck and outlast the china 3500 mah batteries in my opinion!

People here seems to like Seideo . Does anyone has this one Laza Sprint HTC Evo 4G 3500mah Extended Battery . Has good reviews on Amazon..

I have the Laza 3500 extended battery and couldn't be happier with it. I didn't see the point in getting a high tech phone and turning off all the cool features to save juice, so I got the bigger battery. Works as advertised. Lasts much, much longer, charges quickly and the backcover fits great. I also got the Laza silicone cover for the extended battery and it works and feels great as well. Size difference is not enough to be a bother. If all one is worried about is how sleek their phone is, they should probably just buy a smallerr, less versatile device. This battery just makes this great phone even better.

I hate the size of the extended batteries so I went with a Mugen Power 1800. It is easily 30% better than the stock battery. I have no scientific numbers, but I usually had to plug in by mid-afternoon under normal usage and now I make it all day. Well worth the $45, IMO.

Looks like they are out of them now, but picked up a Chinese 3500 from Handhelditems.com for 15.99 including shipping. They called it the "Premium Extended Battery with Back Cover (3500 mAh) (1GgHTCEvo4g3500mAh). I saw the deal from a link i think on engadget or gizmodo. Did a search and it looks like, at times, they have had the same battery and back even cheaper (12.79) also with free shipping

Shipped very quickly and so far working very well. after 16 hours was at 45% after charging it overnight in a separate charger. Back snaps on well, looks and feels nice, but a bit harder to get off than stock.

so, if interested an not in a rush, or just decide at some point to go the 3500 route, might be worth checking them out to see if have them back in stock.

UPDATE: Dang, I'm lovin' me this battery. Day 3 and I decided to let it let it go for a while to see how it performed. Plugged it back in when it got to 8% after 31 hours and change with my normal usage including a lot of internet browsing and Pulse reading, email, phone calls and several Angry Bird sessions for good measure.

Now as a disclaimer, I do use SetCPU (rooted) to throttle it back when the screen is off and Juice Defender to turn off data use automatically from 1am to 7am. Lastly, indoors I usually keep the screen at 50% since that's what I prefer, battery or no, but during this 31 hours I was outside quite a bit at 100% so very impressed.

Now of course is to see how well the thing holds up over time, but a VERY good first week!

Update update: decided to do a real drain test for the $15 Chinese battery. 6.5 hours of heavy phone usage on Bluetooth while using Telenav.

Telanav was on for 5.5 hours of that time. End result 51%. Very good IMO.

Sent from my Evo - so there!

Laza makes a case now on Amazon. $14.99

Amazon.com: Laza Sprint HTC Evo 4G Extended Battery Silicone Case Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

I just purchased this battery from Quickshippers. Worked really well after playing Angry Birds, steady internet usage, downloading of apps, texting, checking email, using slacker radio for an hour. Went down to 30% after 18 hours. Very good performance after one charge. Very happy for the price too ($12)

Is there any case i can use for the 3500mAh Extended Battery and the cover for the battery Amazon.com: HTC Evo 4G 3500mAh Extended Battery + Cover: Cell Phones & Accessories

I don't want the Extended Battery case but just the regular case

I have had it for a week. Love it. Bought it with the white door as i have the white evo. the new door is VERY snug, if not almost difficult to remove. LOL.

Does anyone know of a "bumper case" just kind of like the one the iPhone 4 has. I have the seidio extended battery but I would like to get a case around the sides of the actual phone. I dropped the phone one day and it has a chip in the side. Was hoping to cover it up so it wont spread

I looked for a long time and what i wound up doing is taking the rubbery evo case that they have at Radio Shack and then using a razor blade knife to cut out around where the 3500 battery bulge is. Started the process by using a thin piece of plastic i cut to use as as a template to cut around, then expanded the hole carefully until i was satisfied.

So now the rubber case covers the front bezel area, the sides and enough around the back up to the level of the extended battery case -- coming right up to the edge of the opening for the kickstand, and to just above the camera and speaker openings

The result gives you enough of a "wrap-around" so that the case stays on securely, while adding no additional thickness over what the extended battery case already is. Gives a great grip and protection to the sides and front edges. The extended battery back cover is mostly exposed so it could get scratched, of course. Also have a screen protector on and this home-made "bumper" prevents it from getting peeled up at the edges as well.

If you try this, start with the hole small and slowly make it bigger, you can always cut more off, can't put back on!

My case is just one of the generic ones that came with the 3500 battery off of ebay. With the Seidio case, I read in another thread that the hole you need to cut is the same size as a credit card, so you could try that as a template.

3500 Battery - Which one CONTINUES giving long hours 6 moths after purchase

Greetings and thanks for any help. Looked through this post as well as others and did not find answer.

Have Sprint HTC Evo for about 4 months. Standard battery was joke - lasting about 6-8 hours with my usage. Researched here and other areas and ended up buying 3500 of ebay for $28. Worked great, full day, full day and 1/2 - for about a month then noticed lasting less and less. Now pretty much back to 8 hours WITH 3500 battery.

Has anyone used a certain brand name or type 3500 battery that has lasted them 4-6 months without loosing run time as above.

Thanks again fo any help.

I'm not sure if someone already posted this but I use a 3500 mah battery from Amazon for my EVO. Here is the direct link
Amazon.com: HTC Evo 4G 3500mAh Extended Battery + Cover: Cell Phones & Accessories

It's a generic brand, but for less than nine dollars you can't go wrong. I have gotten at least 16 hours a day. Within those 16 hours I have listened to music for four hours, browsed the web (blogs, youtube, email) for about three hours, one episode of the office on Netflix, and about five hours talking. So I feel this is a great deal and a great product. I would recommend it.
