Australia does not seem to have the firmware update yet.

Official update to Gear Nov 15th and more *notifications*! - xda-developers
Your watch will need firmware: V700XXUAMK7
Phone software to version 1.5.111304

I have updated Galaxy Gear Manager - it is now 1.5.111304, but the Gear itself (Sm-v700) is still on JDQ39.V700XXUAMII. Gear Manager > Paired Gear > Software Update > Update says "the latest updates have already been installed".

Damn, bit too nervous to do the update myself as described above.

Rob
:)

i hear ya....downloaded odin and the firmware but i'm chicken to run it....although i guess we could just reset the gear when it finally rolls out here in the u.s.and start fresh....

Just updated mine. really simple procedure. Just followed these steps:

Downloaded the Stock Firmware BTU-V700XXUAMK7-20131115153?€?zip (208,63 MB) - uploaded.net
Downloaded this Odin Odin307 - Download - 4shared
Once Odin was downloaded I just extracted to Desktop
Once the firmware was downloaded I extracted the two files inside to the Odin folder I had just put on the Desktop

Put the Gear into Download mode (at the watch home screen, hold power until it says watch rebooting, rapid press the power button until you get to a menu with three options, press the power button three times quickly, should move selection to Download mode, hold power about 3 seconds and release, should be in download mode! )

Connect everything up via USB to PC (I am assuming everyone has the USB Drivers, if not http://hotfile.com/dl/247408965/8a67....27.0.exe.html)

Launch Odin
Odin should identify the watch as (0:[COMxx]).
Check PDA and press the button. Select the file V700XXUAMK7_V700OXAAMK7_HOME.tar.md5
Then Press Start
Sit back and wait, Gear should reboot and show the upgrading android animation and Odin will display PASS in green if all went well and its safe to exit and disconnect.

Now if only it was able to vibrate and ring at the same time, along with changing ringtones then i'd be even more happy with my GG

OK, PLEASE HELP. I did all that you said above and have updated the actual watch. How do I update the Galaxy Gear software on my phone? Was I supposed to have my phone attached usb also when I launch Odin?

Go to the Samsung app store and and check purchased apps for updates.

Thanks. I just went there and it only shows that the watch styler needs an update.
When i go to Gear Manager, galaxy gear, software update, it says I am up to date.
I was under the impression that this had to be manually updated if we loaded the firmware through the Odin process.

Well, are you up to date? Firmware on the watch and gear manager version should be independent. But if you see a later version in the store than you have, uninstall and reinstall.
1.5.111304 is latest.

This is really making me feel stupid. I can't find the version number in the gear manager. When you say "store" I assume you mean under the Samsung app store? I can find it in there also? I am batting a 1000.

There are two ways to see the version number.

1) In app manager its part of the information displayed when you tap on any app.
2) In gear manager go to settings, its on the bottom line.

I went to the application in app manager and uninstalled updates. It then had me reconnect the phone and watch via NFC. It then downloaded the app all over and BAM it was the new one. Thanks so much for all of your help.

The Odin307 link no longer appears to be working. Anyone got a new link for that?

I un-installed Gear Manager, re-installed it.. it reconnected to the Galaxy Gear via NFC and then asked if I wanted to re-set/restore the Gear. I restored and everything was as it was before - no update for the Gear.

I got the same options but had already had the new firmware on the Watch.
Sending you a pm about the Odin file

So happy that I am able to upgrade my USA version of gear watch to the latest one by using Odin307. Now, the notifications work on all my email account, whatapp and the IM used in my company. However, it still not able to show email content from my work exchange email, it only shows blocked for security reason and need to view the content on the phone. This gear watch is very useful item now! I am not sure why US version don't get the OTA update.

I have the exact same problem! It's because the device is only "half" upgraded, only the gear manager software, so you're not alone! It says "can't display images" The firmware update will end with MK7 (I think) when it is updated instead of the current MII. I think it will be rolled out any day now. Really looking forward to brief text from ALL my messaging services.

Go into gear manager and select your connected watch. at the bottom it says Software version and yours should end with UAMII if you're in the US (I think, at least that's what mine says). It should update to MK7 (I think) after the update.
