As the title says-(and just moved over from the Apple world yesterday, btw)
Connected the G3 to my x64 Windows 7 PC - "loading drivers" - my G3 will charge from the PC, but it doesn't "see" it so I can transfer files. Have been reading about MPT - but don't have the option to turn it on from the >settings>storage screen. (Doesn't seem to appear anywhere on the phone, actually)
Please help - what's my next step?

When you connect your phone to the PC, you should get something in your notification tray that will allow you to change the connection mode.

I don't get anything in the notification tray when I connect my G3 via the USB cable. It charges so I know the USB connection is working but the G3 doesn't show up under my computer either.

Hi, if you go to Settings>General tab (if using 'tab' view) then scroll down and you should find an option called 'PC connection' (if you're on 'list' view in Settings just scroll down and you should see it) .
When in PC connection there should be an option to Select USB connection method (mines set to MTP) and an option to tick a 'Ask upon connecting' checkbox (I have that checked). If this doesn't help I have no idea why it's not showing.

I use AIRDROID download via app store, does it very quickly through your router. Sign in to www.airdroid.com on a pc. A QR code will come up on pc screen, read it with airdroid on phone, Voila.... transfer files either way easily.

Had the same issues.. this was my fix:

Go to Windows Explorer, right click on "Computer", click on "Manage".
Click on "Device Management" under "System Tools on the left side. On the right side you will have various devices, in my case under "Other" there was a LGE G3.. (look around if you don't find yours, might be under another header). Click on it and click on update drivers.. then search drivers automatically. Took about 10sec and the drivers was installed and the phone was displayed correctly under Windows Explorer.

FYI, the phone will be found under "Portable Devices" and no longer under "Other" once drivers have been installed. Once done, remember that you might have to unlock you screen before the files show on its respective drive in Windows Explorer.

Hi, Currently using LG G3 with Lollipop,
When ever I connect a USB cable to the PC, it only charges my phone, it doesn't let me change the USB connection type, ** I need to use USB tethering for some work I am doing ** . Through LG PC suite I can connect and share files to the phone via wifi but the phone wont be recognized/ found when I try to connect it through USB. I have tried to locate the phone/ driver through device management but I cant find the phone, additionally I have restarted the phone/ reinstalled the drivers/ reinstalled LG pc suite, thanks.

I had the same problem. My g3 would only charge when connected via usb and only connect to pc suite via wifi.

I tried everything, but no luck.

In my case, the problem was that the usb cable, although it looked like it was nicely plugged in, it needed to be pressed down to make a right connection. If i just plug the usb cable, it just showed that the phone was charging.

But if i press the last part of the cable, just where it enters at the bottom of the phone, then all other option show up(like mtp etc), my windows system makes the familiar usb sound etc. If I give up the pressure, then back to charging only mode.

I hope this helps some of you. It is a bad usb port at the phone that caused the problem.
