Hi All,
I just got my new LG G3 over the weekend, and I have a couple of questions I can't seem to find the answer to.

1) Is there a setting for the stock texts that will allow a pop up preview/awake preview? I have downloaded the app "popup" because I couldn't find the setting on the phone itself, but I really don't like the way that works. I had an HTC one before this phone, so am looking for a similar type of notification preview.

2) Is there a way to customize individual keys on the stock keyboard? I really like the keyboard overall, but I do not like the comma on the long hold N button and I really would like the mic to do voice to text on the main screen. Is it possible to arrange this? I saw something on line where it looked like you can drag and drop the mic onto the keyboard, but after multiple attempts, I cannot seem to get it on the home keyboard screen.

Thanks!

In the stock messaging app under notifications in settings.

I factory reset my G3 last night and it's going back to verizon in the mail today. Using Cortana in my car was a huge drawback for me too. I also missed the way Cortana would activate Quiet Time based on my calendar busy times without any intervention on my part. I even purchased Tasker for the G3 to try and mimic some of Cortana's functionality, but found that far more complicated than it needed to be. Android notifications were pale in comparison to WP 8.1. And don't even get me started on the email and calendar functionality....or lack thereof.

I absolutely loved the G3 hardware, but found Android sorely lacking in too many areas vs WP 8.1. I just hope they'll come out some sweet hardware soon for WP!

Sorry, this was meant to be posted in another forum! My bad.

I'm sorry you feel that. I use both Android and WP, and am happy with both. Perhaps I'm easily pleased. I guess if you're used to one system, it must be difficult to adjust to another.

Thank you! I did have these checked, but also gave it to my son (14) to figure out, and he may have set that up at some point when I had not noticed it before. Uninstalled popup and will see if this works for the notifications.

Forgot to add that I did get the comma on the main keyboard screen, and the mic shows that it is on the keyboard screen in the settings, but when I go back to the keyboard, there is no mic showing. The pencil symbol shows in that space on the actual keyboard in the space where the mic shows on the settings keyboard. I cannot even find the mic on the keyboard now. will continue to play with it. Obviously not the most tech savvy person around here, lol!

Anyway, on a side note, was so used to the HTC one I wasn't sure if I liked the G3 at first, but after a few days, this is a really awesome phone!

Okay, got the mic on my keyboard :) Thanks for the help on that.

The other items are checked on the notifications, and I will get a pop up if the phone is already on, but I will not get a wake up if the phone is asleep. Are there other settings for that?

Sorry, I have most of the phone set up the way I like it and have searched and found most of the other answers, just trying to get these last couple of issues take care of.

You definitely have to have those options checked, but you also need to have the option in the Lock Screen settings checked to show "Missed Calls and new messages" on Lock Screen checked. If this is all set, then you might want to disable the options and reboot the phone. Then enable them all again and see if it works.

Usually people want to disable this option, so it is interesting that you're having the complete opposite issue. ;)
