Well went to T-Mobile today convinced that ibwas going to get a V40. As luck would have it they were out of the V40 so I decided to get the G7. Even though this phone has a bigger screen on paper then my old Moto Z Force it geels more cramped to my fat fingers. Hopefully thatbis something i get used to as time goes on. I haven't had a chance to do much with it as I've been spending the evening getting everything set up. Here is what it looks like so far.

Speed wise it feels a little faster, and I'll happy to report I don't appear to have any light bleed.

Thanks to every one who took the tone to answer my questions.Capture%2B_2018-10-30-21-13-14.jpeg

I do have a few questions. I'm not a fan so far of LG's messenger app. Is there another one people here like?

Also power saver, with my Moto Z Force I could configure a power save mode that would start if and when the battery went below 20%. So far I have found a battery saver section but it seems to be manual. Is there an automated means of battery saver?

Textra and Google Messenger are both really good messaging apps and as far as I can tell no there is no option for it to be done automatically.

So glad you are loving your LG G7 ThinQ! Keep us posted if you have any more questions! I'm sure your fingers will adjust to your screen in time, as well!

Also, with regards to SMS app alternatives, I highly recommend Textra. It's very customizable (you can set different speech bubbles and bubble colours, for example); and you can set up ringtones and test tones per contact. I'd also recommend paying for the Pro version - you get no ads, and a few more features. Plus, the app development team is very helpful and will respond to queries promptly.

Take a look at least Pulse SMS. very clean, responsive and reliable texting app. Plus, an active develope and great reviews.

Thanks for the input everyone. So far I've made 2 changes, I'm using GBoard for the keyboard and though I've just switched it seems to be better for me than the stock LG one. I'm also now using the Google Messenger as this is the one I was used to on my Moto z Force. I may try others later.

Overall I have to say there are a few things I would change but overall I'm loving this phone.

I agree with you - Gboard is better than the LG one, IMO.
