I just wondered if anyone had any tips on intial setup? What should be the first apps I should get? Sorry for all the questions I'm just excited because I'll have it by noon. Does YouTube work in the opera mini browser? So I'm not in the best of shape but I'm excited about tracking my steps and eventually running. What are the best apps to start out slow and build up to a better workout? any help would be appreciated.
Congratulations!
I got mine as a Christmas present. I've really enjoyed it so far!
If you haven't done so already, open the Galaxy App Store (NOT the Google Play Store) and search for "Gear". You should see the Samsung Gear Manager (orange "Gear" icon). Install it on your phone.
If you don't have a Samsung phone, you can still use the Gear S, but without all of the functionality. See this video:

You can even use the Gear S without a separate phone, but again, you'll lose functionality. See this video:

If you DO have a Samsung phone... When you get the watch, enable Bluetooth on both the watch and your phone and pair them. Then open the Gear Manager on your phone. This is where you install apps for your watch (the watch itself does not run Android, so you can't install any Android apps). After reading some opening screens that tell you about things like swiping, etc., close them and you'll see the main screen with circular icons for managing all sorts of things. Scroll down until you see the red Samsung Gear Apps icon. Open it -- you can install apps from there. Scroll down and you'll see Opera Mini among all sorts of other apps and app lists. Further down is a "Gear Essentials" section. You may want to start there.
The Gear is not set up for video, so YouTube videos will not function. Someone has recently added a video player to the Gear apps, but it is in the early stages and will only play videos that you place directly on the Gear in a specific folder. There's no streaming video of any kind yet. Let's hope this changes soon (though I'm not sure the processor and battery life will support it in a practical way)!
The good news for you is that S Health comes pre-installed on your Gear, so you'll be able to track your steps, etc. from the start!
Good luck and Enjoy!
P.S.: I'm relatively new to the Gear S and to Android phones, so I hope I got everything above right. There are lots of good and helpful people here, so if I goofed anywhere, I'm sure someone will come along with the correct advice.
