New Gear S3 update

One thing I noticed the other day. I put my watch on the charger and noticed I had unplugged it. I left my watch on the charger and plugged it in. Went to bed and woke up with my watch only at 28% charged.

So now when I put my watch on the charger, I make sure the charger is plugged in first. Maybe this is what is causing issues for some of you?

For people having horrific battery life after the last update, does your phone have similar issues. Just wondering if it has something to do with notifications of a rogue app not optimized for the gear S3.

I usually don't recommend a factory reset, but in this case, I would.

Just got the new update that's supposed to fix the battery problem. I'm with AT&T.

Dreading it arriving for my T-Mobile variant. Battery life is terrible after the last update. Guess this is Samsung trying to tell us to get a new watch. If battery life suffers more after this update, I will be doing a warranty exchange.

While it didn't extend my battery to what it was prior to the last update, I did factory reset and cleared the cache and data in the Samsung Gear plugin app. That gave me maybe a couple of more hours. I can get maybe 30 hours now.

I'm on 2323 and get four days out of each charge I'm never updating.
I'm going to have to live with the Nag Screens on both phone and watch, tried to disable both No luck they keep coming back!
I burn about 1% and Hour with light use notification on Blu tooth on, I love it charge every 4 days for 2 hours.
They really know how to destroy a watch with those updates, got mine refirb AC1. 2.3.2.3-

I don't know what else to do. I've got the newest update that was supposed "fix the battery drain issue", it didn't. I did a factory reset, again, this makes 4 since Dec., didn't help, I've cleared the cache, didn't help. in an hour and half I'm down to 75%. This is my LTE ATT watch, I don't use the LTE, I have it turned off and everything shut down as far as I can. I also have a Classic Bluetooth only that I've had for about 2 months that is setup exactly the same and after a full 9-10 hrs I am at 85-90%.

Location services stopped working. I can't lock onto a GPS signal using the running app.

Welp, I guess that's that. I put my Frontier LTE on this morning at 7 and at 2 pm it's dead. It'll try come back on but then go back off. The last update that was supposed to fix the battery drain killed me. I was able to go at least a full day to 18 hrs maybe more now not even half a day. Thanks a lot.

Update: Got home and put it on the charger and immediately it popped up and said 92% and worked just fine. But dropped to 45% in less than 3 hrs. This is weird.

Just downloaded the update to my T-Mobile LTE S3. Let's see where this goes...

Prior to update my battery was at 73%. After update, 38%. Not looking good so far but I'll give it a couple of days.

Little update: I'm gonna assume the battery indicator isn't working correctly. Battery percentage has been at 38% for the last 3 hours.

Just installed the latest update on my t-mobile frontier, here's to hoping it doesn't make it worse than before. It would be hard to do that considering the last update was absolutely horrible. Fingers crossed for better battery life and responsiveness.

2 hours after a full charge - 25% battery drained.

Update. Ended up getting 12 hours on a fully charged battery. I'll give it a couple of charging cycles and if this continues, I'll be doing a warranty exchange with T-Mobile.

I received a new update to my Gear S3 frontier this morning. It's an update that improves battery life and Bluetooth connection. Hopefully it doesn't break anything.
Hahahahahahaimproves battery life......no it doesn't!!

Made battery life worse and I didn't think that was possible after the 3.0 update. This is my 2nd and will be my last Smartwatch. Not worth the time or money.

Update: just found a post over on XDA stating that after the 3.0 update some Gear S3's lost what he referred to as "battery memory" which could be detected when charging the watch and the cradle light blinking red and then discharging after reaching 100% which is exactly what mine is doing. The remedy is to discharge the watch to as close to 0% as possible and then recharge to 100%. According to the post, this should fix the memory issue.

I've got nothing to lose so I'll give it shot.
