Questions:

I am running the 1st leak with rubiX and Gingercomb Theme.

I know where to find all the info necessary to go back to stock Froyo, Root and then installed the new GB rooted but:

I been reading this info on how to do it and I would really like to know what makes this version better than the other one?

I am getting a little addicted when it comes to messing with my X but before I start with this long process I would like to know what makes this version better?

So far my current set up is pretty stable, fast and great on battery life.

Keep the version you have Sithirdvad .... it still allows linking of contacts. The new release did not solve the camera defaulting to WS problem either.

You can't get there from here! Just joking, best bet it to research how to root first

I removed the Bloat Ware after rooting my Droid X.

Do I have to SBF back to stock and re-root before installing the Rooteded Gingerbread?

for the newest leak yes you MUST sbf to .340 and stay there.
don't do ANYTHING except root and install d2 boot strap.
from there install latest GB leak.
then after that you can do whatever you want

I could not get D2 bootstraper to work properly. I used DX bootstraper since it still works with. 340. It wasn't until GB leakes we had to start using D2 bootstraper.

Once on GB of course I had to use D2 strapper to restore/backup whatever else; since DX bootstraper has become unsupported and wont be updated.

I would also like to know if it is really worth it to install this newer version or not? I just installed the rooted GB leak and mine is very stable as well and also gets amazing battery life and cpu performance. Is it really worth it if I don't have any bugs going on in my current GB build?

Probably not. If you are running great hold tight. Wait for a ROM you like and do it then. Most ROMs will be built off .588 though.

Really? So no major change? Sucks. I actually wanted to mess with my x today, but only if it is worth it.

I f you plan on flashing the upcoming roms you'll have to upgrade to the .588} Some apps (bloatware) where added and texting is different, (I like it better than the first leak). You get an updated radio and bootloader as well, so yes do the update!! But DO NOT flash any themes from the first leak as this will bring you back to some of the old ginger build...repeat..Do NOt FLASH themes based on the first Ginger leak..there's a reason why the Devs (Fab,Jrummy,Kjar and P3Droid) are starting all over on their Roms again...

The directions were kind of confusing to me. So I must flash the 2.3.340 .sbf then install all 3 in order. Why does it sound like people are having some trouble? Also does Z4 root work on this? Got any pics to compare the leaked GB and the "official" leak GB difference such as texting. What apps were added anything actually useful? or all bloatware like you said. Anyone run any Quadrant or Benchmark of the first leak vs this leak?

If you are getting the White Moto logo, then you probably don't have GB. Methinks it's supposed to be Red; at least my Moto logo is red. Assume you've checked the version number.

I did got about samething in the first leak as I do the. 588 leak when testing .1236 got me to 2086 on benchmark,1000 was about 1750 on benchmark
