Previously before Google Voice and Hangouts (opt in) merged I would have a site for Google Voice calls and texts (incoming and out) and then also Gmail and hangouts for Email and IM. Now with Google Voice opted into Hangouts my texts are integrated and it is nice.

How do I send a NEW text in Gmail and Hangouts using Google Voice if I don't know the phone # but have the contact saved?
Right now I go to the Magnifying glass then search for People, type the Name. And it seems to primarily want to start a Hangout using Email and any contact in Google Plus but not have the same contacts and cell #'s.

anyone else having this problem? If I go into contacts, get the # and then do a new message to that #, SMS it works. Any idea how to cut out that 1 step and when will it be integrated with Hangouts inside Gmail?

You should be able to type in the name and it should drop down all the options (email and phone numbers) and you pick which you want to do.

My contacts are 100% in Google Voice but when I type in a new contact it first searches Google + and not contacts in my Gmail.
See above, "Carl Patey" it brings to email and all other Carl's in Google + but in Contacts in Gmail I have a Mobile # for Carl.

Should I not be doing Magnifying Glass, Search for a new SMS? How can I better pull up contacts from Gmail Contacts?

Also, is there a way to SAVE a contact from a new incoming SMS in Hangouts in Gmail?
See the 708 new #, right now I have to copy and paste it in a new area Contacts.

Anyone else think it is missing a little with the Hangouts and Google Voice integration on a Computer?
