I am planning on getting a Rezound when I can update my phone in May. Has anyone used the reconditioned phones before. It says each phone goes through a bunch of tests to make sure it works. I'm pretty sure that every brand new phone is not checked, just random phones so it sounds like a reconditioned phone would be less likely to have a problem. Also I read on here that this phone was offered for like 50 dollars awhile back, do you think this will happen again sometime that I should wait for. I'm sure once I get the phone I will be on here with lots more questions, I've been reading some of the posts while I'm waiting for my renewal time to roll around. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, you just missed the $50 special by like a month. Will Verizon do that again? Who knows..We think they did that to ditch as much inventory as possible.

To the refurbs...yeah....they're not really refurbs. Most phones are returned phones that got a factory reset and new dump of the O/S on it. If even that much. I think they clean up the outside a bit, but you definitely don't get a quality phone. You get the junk that someone else returned and looks good enough to be re-sold.

You'll probably find yourself sending back a few since there were numerous hardware issues with the initial stock of handsets(overheating being one of the bigger issues). Couple that with the fact that Verizon doesn't care that it's peddling broken hardware and you could be in for a time. However you could get lucky and get the phone of someone who returned their phone 2 weeks later to get a Nexus... Oh and you won't get the beats headphones with most refurbs.

I had a great experience with a replacement DInc. Looked perfect. No glitches in hardware. Software was as good as expected.

Can't promise it would work out so well every time, of course.

I went through 7 Droid X "like New" replacements...2 didn't work out of the box, one was in a constant bootloop...they don't check them that well, don't recommend getting a refurb.

I got a refurbished Rezound as a replacement for my bionic and it has been flawless. Verizon did not send it with the Beats earbuds but I don't think I would have used them anyway.

I've got the same story as Pabster, almost.

I sent back four bionic that had problems from lockups, chipped screen, and no volume rocker.

They got tired of me calling weekly and stuck me in a rezound. The rezound has been flawless. No accessories were included. They did throw in the extended battery (and back) for me but, no charger.

My wife got a DX refurb for her busted DInc... the DX we were sent was just about the worst phone ever.

Seems like luck of the draw... good luck with that!

Thanks
I think I'll spend the extra dollars and get a brand new one, just don't want to take the chance. What about the price, do you think they will run that special again or do you think the price will come down some in the near future.

I had the t-bolt and broke 2 and replaced them with insurance replacements Both worked well, and the replacements were less buggy than the original.
