I recently changed from iphone and bought a samsung s3 so im new to android os and i have a couple of questions mainly is there any current flash support for android 4.0.4 or will there be any in the future? also is malware common on android phones because not long ago after downloading some apps i saw random icons popping out on my home panel
another question: is it possible to remove apps that come with the os like samsung apps and others that come with the phone? do all the free app on the market have ads? and is there any way of removing them without rooting your phone? and does anybody know a good application manager to remove and install apps aside from the play store.

1. Android 4.0.4 DOES support flash. After our phones are updated to the next version of Android 4.1 (Jellybean) flash support is no longer officially supported. It can however be added back without root. (requires you to sideload flashplayer.apk and use a browser that supports it like xscope or firefox).
2. Malware is not common on Android. Those random icons popping up could have been caused by a free app pushing apps to you...may need to google the names of the apps you downloaded before this happened.
3. You cannot remove the Samsung apps without being rooted. You CAN however disable them. Go to application manager then select the app and uninstall updates then disable it.
4. Most free apps DO have some sort of ADs, that is how devs make $$$.
5. The only way to remove these ADs is to be rooted and install an app like adfree.
6. As far as an alternate app store, amazon has one and they give away 1 free paid app per day, definately worth a look!

Welcome to the family :)

Hey junglejunkie thanks for the prompt reply
i managed to manually download the flash.apk file from an external source Flash Player 11.1.111.6. but most of the object flicker some show some don't does anybody have a solution for this? i also have another concern about battery life, it discharges really fast recently with 10% brightness a filemanager running and web browsing it dropped from 100% to 85% within 29 minutes, most that was running on the background were services and no more than 15. Do you guys have any tips on saving battery consumption? i dont know if it might be the battery or what not but using easy battery saver app fully charged estimates say that i have 6 hours for talk time 4h web browsing 10h for audio playback and 5h for video playback these numbers are lower than what i had expected especially after reading awesome reviews on battery test.

Hi! New to the forum. I have a Samsung Galaxy Proclaim and just downloaded the Easy Battery Saver. I would like to uninstall it but when I go into the app., the only thing highlighted is the force stop. The uninstall button is not highlighted and I don't know how to get this thing off my phone. Any suggestions or am I stuck with it?

Should of started a new thread instead of thread jacking this one. But you have to go into application manager and un install it or go into the apps drawer and hit the menu key. You should see a uninstall tab

"may the odds be in your favor"
