Now, I have been an avid Nova Launcher user for years and years. Longer than I can remember. However, there were 2 huge nails in the coffin for me with Nova:

  1. No Fold support - They admitted that they had no plans to add this and this was a killer for me - Yes, you can use Tasker or other tools to work around this, but why?
  2. Dev are no longer going to be working on Nova Launcher - Parent company has pretty much killed this, so there is no need to keep hoping now.
In comes a new Launcher called Octopi Launcher (I have no affiliation with this App or Devs).

This launcher DOES, officially, support folding devices with separate profiles for each of the screen. There are a TON of customization features and it really gives you a lot more freedom to take advantage of the screens you have.

You can configure cover and inner screens, but Octopi lets you have different layouts in portrait and landscape mode. So, if you prefer, you can have 4 layouts depending on the orientation of your device.

The Devs are VERY active on Reddit and really work hard to take the feedback given to make this even better. So if you are looking for something other than OneUI, give this a go!

I had this installed for less than 24h before I went Pro ($0.99 and/or $2.99 to go Pro and unlock everything) (you can only give each one once, but you can give both).

The pro bonus features include scrolling widget stacks, drawer icon drop shadows, and nested drawer folders.

Thanks for mentioning this launcher. I don't have a foldable device, but I've used Nova for over 10 years on all of my Android devices, so I'm going to check out Octopi.

The dev's are working on the one feature I used the most with Nova that no other launcher has been able to replicate.

Dock Pagination with Folders. (e.g. Multiple side scrolling dock pages that support adding folders)

I also like that I can customize the icon grids to have as many rows/columns as I want rather than the limit of what Samsung gives us. Also being able to resize them and use more Icon Packs is a plus as well. :)
