Man do I miss the BLUE from the 1st Pixel!

I had a blue 1st Pixel - also had a silver 1st Pixel - the silver was probably my favorite Pixel

If today was pre-order day - I'd be pre-ordering a White Pixel 4 XL - IF - the trade in/free goodies bundle was a good one.

I would hope they have really good trade in deals like they did for the Pixel 3A when it was first released. An iPhone SE had a trade in value of $250 if I recall correctly.

part is wishful thinking - part is real - Google will follow what Samsung did with the 10/10+ pre-order - make us an offer we can't refuse.

A case is going to cover up power buttons and the black sides on the white and orange. I can't even think of using one naked - way too slippery.
Decision may come down to what cases are available - orange and white will need a clear case.

edit - the more I look at it - the more the white with black sides appeals to me.

I've always gone with the basic black, but yep, this is the first 'panda' style that really calls out to me.

But... Tell me that phone wouldn't be sexy as hell if the back were a nice full-grain leather... I have the Bellroy case on my 3XL, and absolutely love the feel of it, as well as the patina it has developed over time. Wish they'd do a 'special edition' with an actual leather back.

Not sure how practical a leather back would be - cases are removable, backs aren't - I'm thinking spillage, cuts, or tears -

I always go for everything but black yet this time the black actually calls out to me. I would just a get a dbrand black leather looking skin to put on the back of it but I understand that doesn't substitute the real feel of leather.

Haven't looked in a while, but Slickwraps used to offer genuine Horween leather skins. Tried one once, was really, really nice, but definitely noticeably thicker than standard skins.

Am I the only one that loves but also hates this new design? Is that weird? I kind of really love it, but also kind of hate it.

That black square sticks out like a sore thumb to me. I wish they could have found a way to integrate the camera in the case like the Nokia 9 Pure.

I can just imagine the design team presenting their ideas for the look and colors of the Pixel 4 and the higher ups too busy playing Stadia saying "yeah yeah that looks good, roll with it". At least that's how I think this design came to be. haha.

I'm not impressed but I also wasn't impressed with the Pixel 3's look and I ended up getting one in white. I'd love to see Google be more colorful with their phones like their logo (blue, red, yellow, green, and leave a white and black phone as well).

I actually still have it in a drawer. The motherboard died randomly and I was left with a nice blue brick. It's the reason I got the Pixel 3 otherwise I'd still be using it. Not only because of the color but that aluminum back felt so good and sturdy.
