New LG G3 Lollipop Issues?

Hi All,

My apologies if these are duplicates, but I'm just trying to see if a few of the issues that are driving me nuts with my newly activated (as of today) Lollipop 5.0.1 driven G3 are normal, or if there are fixes I am missing. I did switch over my SD card from my previous phone (Galaxy S4) and some things (music, photos, contacts) seem ok, while others aren't...

1) Cannot seem to update/install Apps - It just sits there acting like it is updating, the status bar scrolls, but nothing gets updated (or installed). As an example, I tried updating Facebook through the Google Play Store - My Apps option, sat for 10 minutes, and it never updated (but it still says I need an update). This is true for a large number of Apps that I have. I tried to install Helium so I could back up before a factory reset, and the same thing happened. It never installed. Any ideas as to how to fix/overcome this would be appreciated.

2) Network vs. Wifi - At home, I use my Wifi connection, and I noticed that both the Wifi signal indicator and the Network Signal indicator display. I know this did not occur on the S4 (with Android. 4.4.4). Is this normal behavior for Lollipop to display both Wifi and Network connectivity?

3) Can't find a microphone for Speech-to-Text messaging on either the LG or Google keyboards. I saw one article that shows it is in the predictive text field area, but it isn't appearing on mine. - Actually - I just resolved this - it is hidden under the settings icon on the LG keyboard. I had to long press the icon for it to display.

4) No Silent Mode from the Long Press of the Power Button.

I'm sure I'll end up with more questions, but this is good for starters...

Thanks in advance, and apologies again if these are duplicate issues!

1) Can you try a restart then check and see if it will update apps? Mine worked fine after the 5.0.1 update

2) It should only show the Wifi icon when you're at home, not both, unless you make a phone call (or accept an incoming one) then it will change to your network.

3) Still on the settings, under language & input, it should be the middle option.

4) They removed that unfortunately, I missed that feature too. (I hate the priority mode)

Thanks for the replies Rayfire!

1) I'll have to re-check when I get home and am back on Wifi. I did try one app from the office (on 4G) and it downloaded the update without an issue.

2) Same as #1 - I'll have to re-check and see if it shows both the Wifi signal and network signal once I get home. I thought that looked odd with both on there.

3) Thanks - I did see the setting options. I was looking for a one keypress option from the keyboard instead of the two it currently takes. (Click on the Settings Gear next to the space bar, then click on the microphone.)

4) I'll miss that feature too. Guess I can always lower the volume till it is on vibrate when I go to meetings.

Thanks again for your responses!

There is a setting which allows it to use cellular even if on wifi should the wifi not respond. Check to see if that is set (advanced wifi options I think)...
