Hey All,

Question for everyone who maybe got the new market via silent update which I did. I noticed a few weird glitches and just curious if it is my phone or the new update.

First off, when downloading an update to a program the "progress bar" if you will just is crudely laid over the "Purchased" and stars, until it actually starts downloading. Anyone else seeing this?

Secondly I had the market crash on me once today. I went to downloads to see if any updates, searched for an app, then hit back and all of a sudden I had updates. I hit the update all button and the market crashed them resumed as normal.

Should I worry to much about these? Or is this just the quirks of the new market on this particular phone.

Thanks all!

I've had Force Closes since updating to the new market... but I can't say that I've ever cared.. if it does it, I just re-launch and it works.

If it were to do it every time, then i'd be searching for solution.. but, a single force close every now and then isn't that big of a deal to me.

I also have noticed some odd things about the status bar overlaying other content.. doesn't bother me either, as long as it works.

I've never watched something download myself. I click install then I either start browsing for another app or I back/home out to do something else.
You can see a downloading icon at the top of the screen in the status bar. When its done you can drop the windowshade and click on it and it will take you right into the app.

Sorry if that was obvious.. just thougth I'd point it out in case you overlooked it.

I heard about this market update, but I have yet to receive it and my market is still showing version 1714. Maybe I'll get it with Froyo 2.2.

Market is over-rated, even with the "new" version. Try AppBrain. So nice being able to install apps to my phone, from a single click on my computer.

Yeah I use AppBrain and it is much better than the stock market, but I have not been able to find out how to check for app updates manually in AppBrain. That's why I use the stock market to check for app updates and app updates only.

You must not have tried very hard. :) You just click sync apps. You may have to change the auto-sync frequency to suit your needs, which is in AppBrain preferences. I think it defaults to once a day. I update everything from AppBrain without any issues.

Oh ok, thanks. I have my apps synced, I just thought the purpose of the syncing was to store them on AppBrain's server in case I ever needed to recover them. I didn't realize the syncing also checked for updates. I was looking for a "check for updates" type of function. Thanks again

So after further investigation. I seems to give me a crash when I hit update all. I think I might just chalk that up to the market problem then
