Hello. I'm new here. My name is Kristen. I've had an iphone5S for the last year or so. I have grown to absolute hate it. I want to get a new android phone, but i'm not sure what the best one is. I'm hoping these forums and this site will teach me about different phones and the pros and cons.

Hi, Kristen! Welcome to the forums! Glad you're here!

If you're interested in processing an Android device, I recommend narrowing your search down to two or three phones of choice; and then watching unboxing and review videos of those devices on YouTube to help narrow the decision down even further (Android Authority is a very good channel for this).

That being said, here are some questions that may be able to help us point you in the directions of phones that may meet your needs:

- what do you use your phone for the most (ie, calling, social media, texting)?

- what apps do you need to have on the phone that you currently use on your iPhone (Google Play is very extensive - if they don't have the exact same app as Apple, they'll have the equivalent)?

- what size of phone are you looking for? Any particular specs it needs to have?

- what is your budget for a new device?

- what kind of media use do you use? Do you watch a lot of videos? Listen to a lot of music?

I agree with Morty.

I have the Galaxy S7 edge and love it. Use it for work and pleasure.
So, many texts and phone calls a day, many, many emails with attachments a day and of course, web browsing and social media.
I also use it with my U-Verse app to watch live TV sometimes, Hulu and Netflix are used also.
For me, this phone is almost perfect for all my needs.

Decide what your needs and wants are, that way you can narrow to fewer choices. I definitely recommend the GS7 edge.
