How is it going guys?

I've recently made a switch from my old Postimus S to the Evo 4G. Before I dive into the fun....I have a few questions.

What is the best/most reliable custom recovery?
Also, if there is, what is the most current CM7 rom available for this phone?

I had CM7.2 with my Optimus S and loved every bit of the customization possibilities!

Thanks ahead of time my dudes!

If you want CM7 base, look at Deck's Reloaded. Simply the best CM7/Decks ROM, IMHO.

CM9 has many choices for ICS flavors.

I just made the same change from the optimus s to the HTC evo 4g. I was wondering with my optimus I had the hydro rom and it had a awesome notification bar... So my question is what is the best one out there for my evo?

I'll be honest although CM10 is not 100% stable yet, I'm still rocking it and I absolutely love it. I decided to skip over ICS and just go straight to JB

I have flashed Smelkus' Recovery and are currently flashing ICS CM9 rom. I am curious, can I use ROM Manager with my Evo? I noticed some CM7.XX ROMs that I am interested in within that application.

Do not use ROM Manager with your EVO. It is not reliable and is very buggy. Always flash manually through recovery. Since you have Smelkus' Recovery, you will be good to go.

I appreciate it man, I am in a predicament currently though. Take a look at this thread I just created at XDA and tell me if you know the reason I am stuck at CM9 Splash Screen....

Thanks bro

Do what MikeStony says. Flash another ROM. You may have had a bad download. Or you can redownload JMZTaylors' CM9 ROM and try again. Be sure to wipe cache, dalvik cache and data before flashing

Well .if i can butt in to this convo...i'm very amateur as to what you are talking about when you say rom or recovery..?where do i even begin when it comes to finding a rom and i'm suppose to back it up on my laptop?
