Hello-I'm looking into making the jump from WebOS to Android. I'm really pretty content with my first gen. Pre but since the whole WebOS thing appears to be falling apart faster than my current phone and Sprint never carried an upgrade to the Pre it's time to jump ship. While I've enjoyed being part of the Pre Central community I'm looking forward to my time here.

I would welcome any suggestions on what phone I should be looking at. I'm a fairly advanced user with a strong preference for a hardware keyboard and a relatively small form factor. I'm currently considering the HTC EVO Shift 4G.

I, too, am heading to Android from webOS. Really sad about leaving my Pre behind.

For what it is worth, a friend of mine who was also a Pre owner went to the Shift. She said it took awhile to get used to, but she is happy with the Shift. She said she thought the Shift would feel too big after the Pre, but found it to be fine.

Good luck with your move over to Android.

Welcome welcome ... A move you'll both never regret doing. I too was once a proud owner of a palm pre, and now rocking a HTC EVO - I'm proud to say, this was the best move ever.

Enjoy the forum. :)

Yea, WebOS is a great OS in search of better support and more development but I need something that works now and I fear that my Pre's days are numbered.

Here are the link: Palm User's Guide to Android to almost everything you will need.

Also try playing with the Epic and the non-keyboard phones. About 90% of Epic owners never use the keyboard again after the first month. Go to the store and play with them until you have tried everything. Whatever you do, get what feels goo to you.

By the way, we just found out this week why HP can't license out webOS.

Hi everyone! Also on the same boat here... got burnt by HP, damn you HP!

I'd like to stay on Sprint and am waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S II... although the rumors of the Nexus Prime sounds so sweet, but as a webOS refugee, I'm honestly sick of playing the waiting game and I think things will be much better with Android.

The only thing I think I'll miss the most is the Touchstone. I have one by my bed, desk and car. I wish I had the skills to mod whatever new Android phone I get to work with it.

Are there any companies or people who offer Touchstone Android modding services?? I would definitely pay for it! :)

I, too, am a webOS refugee. Test driving a Galaxy S right now and trying to be very patient with it. I made the jump to no physical keyboard very quickly, but trying to get everything else to be as integrated and fluid as webOS is taking a lot of work and research.
