New Nexus 4 purchase: Anyone get a shipping notification or tracking number?

Can someone clarify time for me. EST is 5 hours behind UTC? For my order they put, November 13, 2012 2:24:07 PM UTC-5 it was placed. So what time does that make it in EST? Call me stupid, but I am confused...I would like to know what time I "ordered" EST and PST.

I disagree. They have already made it clear that they are not only shipping all of these Next Day Air but that they are also refunding the regular shipping charges.

They knew they had to do something and do it fast once the tech bloggers and columnists started asking questions. I sent David Pogue (tech writer, New York Times) a short email the other day subject "Google flubs Nexus 4 Launch" with links to this thread and others hoping only that he would call one or two Google contacts and ask, "What's up?"

I don't know if he did so, but have no doubt that questions from major tech writers would have lit a fire under Google's a**.

They technically keep their end of the agreement if you receive it today - "delivered in 3-5 business days." Regardless, let us know if you get shipping charges refunded.

"EST" or "Eastern Standard Time" has meaning to residents of the US but is meaningless to others. As far as the rest of the world is concerned, the US eastern regions are currently on "UTC-5" (Coordinated Universal Time - previously often known as Greenwich Mean Time - less 5 hours. Your time stamp is 2:24:07 PM EST (for people who "speak" US) and 2:24:07 PM UTC-5 for everyone else.

The Nexus 4 launch was a joke. The Google Play Store couldn't handle the demand, the device didn't even go on sale where I was while Mobile Syrup, sorry Android Syrup, reported the 8 GB model went on sale for five minutes. People say orders disappeared, some countries never saw it go on sale before being listed as "Sold Out", and what's the deal with the whole give google your email to be notified when it came for sale. No one I know received any email from Google saying "The Nexus 4 is for sale! Limited quantities available and heads up, our site is full of bugs and glitches." Such an embarrassment for the company. I do respect how Google isn't marketing this as an LG phone, which is the smart thing to do...

My credit card blocked the transaction on the 13th. Never received a back order email or anything since confirmation. Ordered 15 min after play store opened. Called CSR just now and they said another round is going to be processed today and shipped, mine included. Said I'd get phone in hand by tomorrow and a tracking number by tonight.

Hope that helps people still in limbo like me.

"The package was left in a UPS facility. / Package will be delivered next business day"

GRUMBLE

Mine was last scanned at 7:26 AM leaving the airport and headed for my local distribution center. Normally about a one hour drive if no other stops in between.

Ordered N4 (8gb) at 12:07pm EST on 11/13; been in limbo until email confirming shipping at 10:06pm last night; Out for delivery as of now in NJ. I hope everyone else gets theirs today or tomorrow!

First of all I am glad to see so many people who haven't heard a thing finally get their phones shipped!

I am a backorder. I was monitoring the site from 10am CST til the time I finally got my order in at 11:55am CST. I never even saw the site change to "Order Now" until 11am.

You would think that Google with their incredible search request handling systems could handle such a large surge of requests to order a product. Ah well. I am waiting for "up to 3 weeks" so I guess I will make the best of it and create a new app for Android in the mean time. :)

Grats to everyone who finally has resolution!

I think they said up to 5 business days right? Wed, Thursday, Friday, Monday, Tuesday....sounds like they are about right on time give our take a day. And that's after it's processed. So yeah, the customer service sucks but they aren't to far behind seeing how people are starting to receive them. I just wish they could have handled it better.

Yeah both of mine are out for delivery after next day air shipping, so I'd say they are doing just fine. I'd disagree that their CS sucked as they were at least honest with me saying they didn't know and as long as I didn't get the backordered email I *should* be getting it soon. Not ideal, but at least they didn't lie to me or speak to me like I was a dumb a**.

This would be awesome but I don't believe it for a second. Would mean backorders might go out too.

Did you seriously register to make this post? I know the iPhone is boring, but you must have something better to do with your time on a Tuesday morning than troll on a forum about shipping status! :-!

From Google Support email:

Because of the delay, these phones will be shipped overnight, and your shipping fees will be refunded.

I just wish there was a more definite time frame for all of us backordered folk. 3 weeks is a long time to wait, and although it will "likely be sooner than that" it would still be nice to have some sort of more concrete estimate. If they go on sale in the play store again before I get mine I'm going to be livid.
