New Nexus 4 purchase: Anyone get a shipping notification or tracking number?

You ordered one minute after me. I didn't get the confirmation email. As I have written to others, try to sign up for the UPS service. They say it is free and you will have a better answer than waiting on Google or their reps who probably know less than we do.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did sign up for the UPS service and was able to successfully add my home address. I had originally ordered for delivery to my work address (as I do with 98% of my online orders) as UPS is hit and miss in my area leaving things without someone home. I assumed delivery signature would be required and while I see this service might allow a way around it I didn't know at the time of order. Anyway, seems the free version of the service won't allow business addresses when I tried to add it.

Still no further email notifications as of 7AM EST. Hopefully it shipped and they are just lagging on emails. I'll be interested to hear if there are any eventual numbers released on how many units were sold at launch.
 
Ordered 1 8gb at 11:45 best Tuesday... Got confirmation 30 min later.

Now I sit with no shipping confirmation no back order email.. Still says in Google play " shopping estimate" 15th. Signed up for my choice and no email from ups either.

I ordered at 11:35am EST and am in same situation as you. I got confirm email of my order immediately, but no shipping email or back-ordered email as of 7:10am EST today.. Strange. I'll wait out the rest of today to see where this conundrum leads...
 
Checked my bank account this morning and the money went back into it. No charges whatsoever. Called Google andwas told my order was back ordered. Never got any e-mail from them.

It may be over reacting, but why should I give someone my business who I have zero faith in? At least with apple I know when I order what my shipping time will be.

I can understand this sentiment. It has been pretty abysmal from a customer service perspective. Normally, I'd probably be inclined to cancel as well, and there are two reasons I'm not doing so. 1) I'm *really* excited to try android, and this phone at this price (unlocked) with stock Jelly Bean is saying to me "it's time" and 2) the fact that I already have a pretty nice phone to use/play with in the meantime...even if that "meantime" is longer than I want it to be, takes the edge off. Being forced to use one top of the line smartphone while you wait for *another* top of the line smartphone isn't such a bad circumstance to be in, lol...so I'll keep waiting.

But it is bad service. No question.
 
Ordered a 16gb with bumper at 11:49 est. Got confirmation email on 13th. Since then nothing. No shipping, no back order email just the play store still saying expected to ship on the 15th.

I emailed Google this morning with no response yet. Getting just a bit frustrated.

I just checked my account to. Money is now back in. Still no info from Google whatsoever. Plus I ordered @836am pst. How is it that I get not one bit of info and I see that people that ordered after me are having them delivered. Quite ticked off right now.

Yeah the order is fine. That happens with my amazon orders when they take too long to ship. At least I'll have a better idea of when it does ship because it'll probably show in my account well before I receive any correspondence from Google.
Nothing I can do about it. I'll see it when I see it. No sense getting worked up about it.
 
I should get it in a couple of hours!
I bought 2 16 gig within a min of going live on Tues... can't wait to fast boot unlock! Haha

I ordered at 11:45 EST and still heard nothing and my charges are still pending as well. Its quite frustrating

Checked mine as well, no hold anymore, I only got the initial confirmation email. Ordered at 11:33 EST could have been but a minute or two after they started selling. I would be pretty pissed if I got back ordered. Play store says shipping nov. 15th and wallet still says pending. Ordered 1 8GB no bumper.

Wow. That is disheartening, and doesn't seem to bode well for those who successfully "ordered" within the first 10 minutes of availability.

I can excuse Google for having *some* logistical issues... but not having established basic communication to monitor warehouse stock vs. online ordering to keep people from buying phones that don't exist? That is actually rather atrocious for a company of their stature.
 
Maybe it like someone who posted earlier I think from the UK. They got a shipping notification and a few hours later received their phone. Might have been another thread.

wallet still says pending too. I called them this morning and the person seemed clueless..., "it should ship today". I guess it could be a good thing the hold was lifted b.c maybe they are getting ready to ship it? I definitely feel like I was back ordered though.
 
Just sent an email to the Google store with my rant. Have received nothing from Google since the launch.

I have ordered 2 LG Nexus 4's on launch day after tremendous difficulty thanks to the play store site unable to handle the traffic. Got an email confirmation on both devices immediately once I was able to order. Now I sit here 3 days later with no notification, no emails, no communication whatsoever on the status of my orders while my friends and others in the Android community have received some sort of status.

I am surprised and extremely disappointed at the way this is being handled. For a company as reputable as yourself, you should have handled this better. I am in IT and know that when launching a new product, one of the first steps would be to stress and performance test your infrastructure/application that will be used to sell a product. Your engineers obviously didn't do that well because of the ridiculous issues during the day of the launch. After which, it should not be so hard to match up the number of orders with the units on hand - its called operations, and obviously no one seems to have sat down and said 'well, this is going to be a huge launch and we should plan for contingencies and have our operational strategy in place'.

If this were some other company, I would have not made a fuss - but this is Google. I am disappointed - as a user, a supporter, a fan of the company. I think Google should have used Amazon webservices to handle this launch - would probably have gone much smoother.
