New Nexus 6p. Yellow tint effect??

Ugh...

Just opened my 6p and immediately noticed a yellow tint effect on white backgrounds.

Comparing it side by side to my OnePlus just magnifies the problem.

Is this normal??

Did you change it to sRGB yet? If not, turn on developer options (settings > about > tap the build number 7 times until it says "you are now a developer"), go to developer options settings > developer options and then scroll down to sRGB and turn it on. Wait for it to change and click on, then use the back arrow on the top of the settings app to back out.

Yeah, I tried that and still the yellow effect is pretty apparent.

Is it sticking on? My screen didn't look bad before but once switched it is amazingly accurate.

You can pretty much guess which one has the yellow tint issue.

Both phones have brightness to max.

This may have been switched off somehow. If it is stuck on and you're still seeing that I'd check it out after the 6.0.1 update and if that doesn't fix it, get the device replaced as defective.

The picture is with sRGB enabled. And yes, if does disabled it when you power off the phone.

I got the 6.0.1 OTA as soon as I booted up the phone for the 1st time.

You have a defective device, mine is bright white. There should be no need to enable sRGB, my phone has it disabled.

That is definitely not normal, regardless of color modef

It's a Samsung screen so there's a chance for a weird colour tint. I've had colour issues with Samsung amoleds yellowish or pink. Current 6P isn't too bad.

Amoleds can have this problem. Get device replaced

So I checked and the manufacturing date of my 6p is Oct 26. This is weird considering I ordered this phone last Friday and the 6p was OOS for most of November, I went ahead and ordered a replacement so we'll see....

I'm on my 4th replacement and this one has the yellow tint when your not looking head on at the screen it sucks as I love the phone I just wish they used LCD
