Greetings all,
I am a new member of the forum and would like to introduce myself.
I work as a developer on the PC platform in a corporate IT department, but I enjoy using computers and computing devices as a hobby with my spare time.
I just purchased a Nexus 7 (16gb) yesterday and am a bit of an Android newbie. I'm getting in the swing of using it and enjoying it so far. Hopefully, the info I pick up in the forum will help keep the learning curve relatively short.
Although I have an ipad, it's a bit large and heavy to conveniently carry around with me. A 7" tablet seemed to be a good compromise between the ipad and my phone, whose screen is too small for the media I wish to consume. From my research, the Nexus 7 was a good fit for me. I also plan to "audition" the Android platform as a possible choice for my next phone.
So far, I like the level of customization available on the home screens and the availability of alternate keyboards. Already this is a far cry from what is available in IOS. I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun with this device
