New Nexus: Motorola vs. HTC, Cell/Data Reception (Data Speeds)

Hello All,

I really want to get the next rumored Nexus phone and from the rumors it could be made by Motorola or HTC.
So I am trying to figure out which phone would have the better signal strength.

I currently have the Galaxy S4 on AT&T and I am in the Los Angeles area (I work downtown) and for some reason I do not get the best signal strength. I normally get slow data speeds even on LTE (also high ping).

I want to make sure that the next phone I get will have better signal strength than the one I have.

So looking at the two most recent phones, the Moto X (2014) and the M8 since that would be the best representation of the next Nexus.
From what I have heard the Moto has the best signal strength, but I have not heard about HTC’s signal strength. If HTC will make the new Nexus and they don’t have the better signal strength then I might go for the Moto X.

So my questions are: 1) Which phone had the better signal strength? 2) Which phone has the better data speeds on AT&T?

Thank you in advance for the answer?

1) Motorola 2) Motorola

3) I love my Moto phone but kinda hoped HTC would get the bid

I keep hearing everyone say the want an HTC Nexus, but I do not know why. Is it just the stereo speakers? Or is there other things?

My guess is that it's the metal body of the phone.:p

Moto uses a very close to stock UI and adds some very useful features. Losing those features would suck a little. HTC still uses Sense but adds very little functionality to the device and so having them return to roots would be more worthwhile, IMO.

So if it is an HTC Nexus, then I should look at the Moto X instead?

I'm honestly not sure, if both are available for whatever service you use it'd be worth looking at both IMO - but without knowing what the Nexus is I couldn't say which is better for me, let alone for you :p

Historically, Motorola is known for it's radios being better than the competition. How quantifiable that is now, I don't know. They've earned that reputation though.
