New Nexus?

Not dreaming - I think those requirements are pretty reasonable in light of where cell phone technology is going. Motorola is no longer iffy. Google will be running the show, no doubt about that despite what they say. I think we'll be seeing some really great stuff out of Motorola next year.

Dream team build for the next Nexus (if we could only have one):

Design - HTC
Radios - Motorola
Screen - LG
Camera - Samsung (SIII camera, not the GNEX camera)
Battery life/technology - LG and Motorola need to make a baby and have that produce the battery.

Then at least a 1.5ghz dual core processor and 2gb ram. Needs at least 32gb storage (lack of SD card doesn't bother me), maybe a mini HDMI, if not at least MHL. Missing anything?

Have the Camera be a Sony camera and im good. They have some of the best camera sensors on the market. I believe they supplied the 4s camera sensor if I recall right

It's probably just a Nexus One.

The release date will probably be November 5, since that's Android's 5th anniversary.

The HTC code name for nexus wasn't letters like they normally use. The code name for the nexus one was Passion. I still think bmx is hinting...or rather im hoping hes hinting

At this point I don't care as long as its bigger then my GN. 4.65 is a good size but I have a seriously size envy problem after using my brother-in-law's Note.

Needs to be on Verizon.

I would to love to see HTC or Moto take a crack at a Nexus. One required improvement for me...improve the camera so I don't have to regret not bringing my point and shoot on vacations. :)

You would think that Google would want to start releasing some information on its next Nexus around the time of the new iphone announcement. Why give Apple all those sales? I just hope whatever they do they end up doing it fast and NOT like last year....2 weeks into December kind of sucked.

MobileCon (CTIA Wireless) I hope is event Google takes over to announce their Nexus line. Then again it's just wishful thinking. I good at least we gets some more rumors in OCT but what I would give to announce some Google Fall event. They need to have establish event for fall it does not have to be Google I/O event but establish event we can expect every fall. That would make following Google so much nicer.

My thoughts also.
Honestly Panda, Ill deal with their shenanigans for their network. I'll still buy Nexus if I think it fits my needs. At least now we know what we are getting into instead of wishful thinking. A Verizon Nexus, not a unlocked Nexus, if that makes sense.

It would be cool to see Nexus 7 tablet condensed down to pocketable smartphone with Jelly bean :-$

Google is working on the nexus 5 to rival the iPod ;) and also there is a bunch of rumors that Samsung is working on the galaxy nexus 2 to release in November.

I'm hoping Samsung does not make the next Nexus. I don't see them doing anything great since they are scheduling the S4 to be available jan or feb 2013. Google really needs to go with another carrier. It seems perfect to have Motorola make it, then they would have complete control.

How often has Google released a Nexus phone, has it been every 2 years give or take a couple months? I'm on Verizon and do for an upgrade in December. I really want to hold out for a Nexus, but the S3 is a basdass phone and I'm stuck with my clunky thunderbolt. Just wishful thinking on my part that Verizon will get the next nexus and it won't be at the end of next year.

One nexus phone a year

Ah yeah, got my years mixed up when thinking about that. So I guess I’ll just wait a few months and see if it’ll be offered on Verizon.

The Verizon iphone 5 apparently supports cdma, lte, and gsm hspa+. If Google could do something like that, as well as manhandle the carrier into giving them control over updates like apple, then I think we'd be on the right track. I love my Verizon nexus, but there are so many grey areas with this phone compared to the unlocked version. I'd like to stay, but I'll ditch them for an unlocked nexus if I have to.

I'd be happy with any company making the next Nexus, EXCEPT Samsung.

Sony, HTC, Motorola, LG, whatever. I'll be fine with it.

I know that there is A LOT of backlash towards the Samsung Galaxy Nexus...but I'll be honest, I love the design, weight and screen. Obviously the cell radio is a bit weak(er) but I never really had an issue. It fits so well in the hand and is nice and thin...

That being said, I am a bit peeved they gimped the Camera, battery life (somewhat) and omitted LTE.

I for one would really like to see what they would come up with for the next Nexus..maybe take cues from the ATIV S and make it metal...a little larger screen while maintaining the width, thinner & bigger battery...
