At this point, I don't think samsung is worried about the sales of the note 7 anymore or the profit...it will be a big loss matter no matter what. There focus now is to change public perception and continue to get out replacement devices to their customers. I have stuck with samsung since the first galaxy device and will continue to. They absolutely make the best phones in my opinion and I'm now enjoying my replacement note 7 until next year's note 8......

Yes. I have an S7 and two fast chargers. Each time I use those chargers the phone gets hot. Pretty hot? I dunno if I would go that far, but with all the hoopla about catching on fire it made me think about maybe the ones that catch on fire have been using the fast chargers? So, right now I'm charging the phone using just the regular cable and voila, it's not even warm. I think I'm only gonna use my fast chargers in an emergency from now on.

The phone will get hot when fast charging. My s7edge does too until it reaches 90% then it starts cooking down. It gets especially hot when using a wireless charger

My replacement definitely gets warmer when charging than my recalled Note 7. I'm gonna give it a few days before I get concerned though. I just picked up my replacement Sunday so I've only charged it twice.

OP, please keep us posted. If your phone is overheating to this extreme, you need to return it. It could be dangerous, regardless of the model.

I report I just read showed where someones replacement went up in smoke just like the originals did. Samsung said they are investigating that report and the overheating issues on the new ones.

I sure hope Samsung can fix this for everyone here.

I read another report where a Note with a black square on the box caught fire.

What's interesting is that in this one, the rear panel popped open, indicating that the battery inflated, likely caused by a ruptured cell possibly caused by overheating, leading me to suspect that a safeguard designed to help with temperatures could have failed. The others which caught fire didn't have their rear panels opened.

What's odd is that the owner said it happened 24 hours after purchase and that he refused to have Samsung take a look at it.

If he's refusing to let them have a look, odds are it's some staged BS. If your phone blew up, why wouldn't you want them to look at it? There are 3 answers:
1) You're planning on suing Samsung and want your own "expert" to provide an evaluation of why it failed.
2) You're full of crap and just doing this for media attention and don't want to get called out on it.
3) You had so much porn on your phone and you're paranoid that they'll find it when inspecting the phone.

Of course he did... Because he's lying.

Gee, I wonder why he doesn't want Samsung to check....

I recall being skeptical of the Jeep Guy, Garage Guy and Grandma incidents and was flamed. No pun intended.

Also confident Pocket Guy is in the same legion.

Also JD.com sells so many items....it most likely was one of the recalled devices that they never took out of stock.........

Hmm...

Oh no! That's so scary! Don't like the sounds of this...

What would happen if Samsung had to recall the Note for a second time? Would it kill the Note for this year? Yikes. I don't know how the damage would be repaired to the reputation then. I just hope for the S8 Edge these battery issues are sorted out.

I don't know, but the reputation of the device would go beyond the point of being salvageable if that happens.

I highly doubt a second recall but at that point I would ask for my Note 5 back and call it a day with any phones, until the Note 5 is hanging by a thread....lol

If really so serious to the extend that needs recall again, think Samsung will probably just refund everyone and kill off the Note 7 completely. Doesn't make.sense to go through the massive operation again.
