New Optimus T user

I have been using my android for a week and love it. Today I started a software update. It has now been 3 and a half hours since it started and I am frustrated. Have talked to my carrier tech services and they don't know what to do. Can't cancel it. Pulled battery and it automatically continued to be in download mode. It is driving me crazy. Is this supposed to take so long???

I don't think so... that doesn't seem normal at all. Take the phone in for repairs. The moment you did a battery pull should have fix that issue.
PS. Have you tried holding down the power and volume button at the same time and reboot or clear storage on the device.
