Any secret tricks I should know of? What's everyone doing to get around the (lack of) memory issue? Has anyone gotten carpel tunnel syndrome yet from extending the thumbs? :)

My first impressions are that 1) the screen is nice, although I came from a Rezound which wasn't too shabby either, 2) the speed and "zip" are fantastic, 3) the size is a bit daunting, but nice, 4) battery life is much better than the Rezound, and most importantly 5) free WiFi tether with FoxFi! It wasn't compatible with the Rezound...I had to root...and that wasn't fun.

I'm not planning on rooting or gaming...any other suggestions?

For memory I use a USB OTG to USB 2.0 adapter (many can be found on Amazon) with a 32GB USB thumb drive.
Not officially supported on the DNA but it works anyway with Apps like Astro or ES File Explorers.
The Size is wonderful if you regularly use Youtube/Hulu/Netflix.
Battery life can be a mixed bag depending on your signal strength and the apps you use. I have a crappy signal at work that keeps switching from 4g/3g.
With my usage, I average 20hr battery life.
Tips? Mostly the usual, keep Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC off unless you need to use them. Use Wifi whenever possible to save battery/data usage.
If your battery drains quickly look at running apps (Settings-Battery-Usage) Google maps or internet are the most common culprits. Either turn off location services
or manually go to usage and stop the apps periodically (my preference). My phone right now shows that Google maps used about 25% of my battery and I never used the maps app today.

Thanks for the tips...I noticed the same thing with my maps app...just uninstalled updates and so far, so good. This thing is super fast. I love it.

Might I ask you how you were able to root your phone? Did you just buy it new or was it rooted already? As I understand it right now with the two recent O.T.A.'s,there isn't a way that I know of to root the device. I am not going to try this on my own and even my one friend that was going to help me can't find a way around the updates. Thanks for any help. Congrats on the DNA, It's a great device.

It was the Rezound that I rooted, not the DNA. (Too scared and it works too well! Lol) And I think I found something on Phandroid...I had to have my brother-in-law help because I'm not too good at it apparently.

I too am a new DNA owner as of this afternoon, finally left my Nexus I've had since release. Was looking for one already rooted and got a good deal in the Marketplace here. Already running Sense 5 ROM and just saw that AOKP has an unofficial release already due to CM having most of the issues resolved other than BT audio. Good time for me to finally jump since I've ran AOKP on multiple devices. Future looking good, S4 will get my attention buy most likely I'll get it for my wife or maybe the Note2 when it drops in price. DNA2 has my attention too. :-D

DNA 2?! Well I got this bad boy brand new from HTC for $50...hopefully a good enough deal to keep me from coveting a newer phone! Lol

I've had my new DNA for a day and so far I'm loving it. Got it as a brand new replacement for an insurance CLNR Rezound that wasn't right...although I loved my Rezound, I couldn't pass up this switch...kinda feeling like I won the smartphone lottery!

Well, I ain't replacing these DNA for some time. Paid a nice penny compared to $49, but worth it to keep Unlimited. And I've been spending all day going through ROM choices. And getting that Rezound replaced by DNA is sweet!

I can imagine! I actually used my wife's upgrade so I could keep unlimited lol

I paid full retail for my DNA in January because I was a year away from an upgrade and was tired of and never truly impressed by my razr maxx. I haven't regretted it for one moment.

I don't care what kind of phone you have, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence.

I was looking at the RAZR Maxx too, but the 1080p is something I wanted and the 5" screen too. I think the battery of the Maxx must be awesome. But the DNA is just starting as far as development. And I'm sure it beats the Nexus battery, the radios really hurt that phone.

You won't be disappointed with this phone Chris.

For wifi tethering without root, try Open Garden.
To make your lightning quick phone even quicker, try different launchers (Nova, Apex or Atom).

Enjoy your new phone!

I switched to this phone about a month ago. I had a Maxx HD for 6 months. It was an excellent phone. The battery, of course was crazy good. The reason I switched was because I craved the display on the DNA, the size of the screen and wanted to go back to Sense. My biggest question I wanted to answer was, could I live without the long battery life and no micro SD. I travel a ton, so battery life was hugely important. Here's what I discovered:

*The phone is as svelte as I had thought, the display gorgeous without the animated colors of the Samsung and Moto phones.

*The battery life has been surprisingly good. I don't do any tricks to save the battery. I keep my brightness turned up, blue tooth on when needed, wifi on when available, etc... Yeah, I connect to a power supply when available and I carry a small Anker charger, if necessary. But all in all, the one huge advantage of the Maxx HD, was not as big a deal.

* I kept hundreds of pics and thousands of songs on my SD card. I'm not sure why this phone wasn't made without an SD slot or at the very least, 32gb. However, I have learned to live off the cloud, without a hitch. All my music playlists are in Google and my picture folders are in Picasa. I do miss some of the music players I used. Play Music, is pretty vanilla.

*The processor on this phone is much more responsive and much less choppy. The Maxx HD had noticeable lag as I would swipe. This phone is very smooth.

*Last thought, a 5" phone is as big as I will be able to ever go. It's slim enough to keep in my pockets but just a tad too big to make some one-handed gestures.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I just jumped from a SGSIII to a DNA and it comes in the mail today. Pretty darned excited.

This phone is just so sexy I can't get over it.

I've found the DNA to be a better phone than the S3. I like the screen, the way the phone feels in the hand, I like Sense better than TouchWiz. I miss having an SD card though. And some apps don't play nice with the display - looking at you, CoPilot. I like the small notifier light, but I don't like how it doesn't get along with LightFlow. Speaker is better than the S3. And the red stripe on black is cool :)

Yep I just picked mine up tonight, DNA is great! Doesn't feel big and is so light. Screen is superb. I couldn't pass up the DNA free promotion.
