Cracked my T-Bolt screen so now have a replacement via insurance in front of me. Could someone give me the steps to backup my current phone, activate and root the new phone (not the entire process but when to do it), then restore old settings on new phone. I assume I can put the storage card from the old phone in the new one but am not clear on which backup I need to do (Nandroid, My Backup, or both). Thanks in advance.

wait, do i even have to root the new phone? if i restore the nandroid backup of a rooted rom, won't the new one be rooted via this route? seems to easy to be true.
so would this be a decent summary?
My Backup/Nandroid back up the old phone. Take the SD and SIM card out of old phone and place in new phone. Activate new phone. Root new phone. Restore Nandroid backup. Restore My Back up.

Sounds good to me, but I'm not expert. I'd do one last thing. Copy your entire sd card to a folder on your computer. I did it once, formatted my card and pasted everything back without any issues (not that I'd recommend pasting it back unless the situation warrants it). I did it because my market was broken, like really broke, not delete cache and data and it's better stuff.
This is not necessary, but either way it's a cool fun way to stare into backups and folders and such and really it's a good thing to go every once in awhile just in case. It's just good to have backups of all this stuff anyway.

well, that was easy. did it as described about, but didn't realize how good the nandroid backup was. didn't have to do anything (including My Backup) after it (app settings and logins were even saved).
