If you are switching from another Samsung phone to the new S25 Ultra. Please keep in mind that Samsung Smart switch can backup and restore your old device onto your new device rather nicely. Use can use a computer or even an external USB thumb drive.
Here is a video that shows exactly how to do that. Not my video but it is pretty good.

I have no complaints but I hear others say it's not as customizable, to me it does what I need and works great with iPhone users

I've been using Google Messages for over three years and like it. I don't need customisation either. My contacts are a mix of Android and iPhone users, and both work well.

What's not mentioned also is Google messages always updating and adding features I can't say the same for Samsung messages.

I personally loved Samsung messages especially for the customization. After switching to Messages exclusively once they made it work with the GW I much prefer messages due to the emoji expressions and message reactions. Since you're not familiar you'll be in for a nice surprise once you start using them.
